Kara Creek Ranch is located 15 minutes from the historic town of Sundance, Wyoming, nestled in the most western part of the Black Hills. True cowboy culture is still plentiful with ranching, rodeos, hunting and cattle drives being some of the activities that are enjoyed in the area. Wildlife, horses and cattle are seen throughout the meadows and creek that runs through the entire ranch.

The Experience

Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the land while hunting at Kara Creek Ranch’s pheasant hunting property, Pheasants on Kara Creek Ranch. Located just minutes from Sundance, Wyoming, we are situated in the western part of the Black Hills of Wyoming with amazing views of Inyan Kara Mountain.

Through our extensive cattle grazing program, exceptional habitat has been developed for upland game birds. Cover includes creek bottoms to CRP type of cover, offering a natural environment for your hunting experience. Bring your own dog, or our highly trained and experienced guides will take you out for the hunt of a lifetime – being in Wyoming, there is no bird limit and you can shoot as many pheasants as you want! Explore Wyoming’s prime pheasant hunting – where adventure meets tradition!

Upon arriving at Kara Creek Ranch you will immediately become a lifelong friend! In addition to an incredible landscape, Kara Creek Ranch also offers a comfortable, inviting environment with a variety of lodging options. The main ranch house is the primary gathering area each morning and there are multiple cabins available for your stay. Each cabin features a comfortable space with a private bathroom.

The food at the ranch is typical ranch-style food featuring home-raised beef, potatoes, pasta and vegetables. During your stay, you will eat a large American style breakfast and depending your hunt, lunch is either served in the field or at the ranch headquarters. Each day is rounded out with a large dinner served family-style. Specific dietary needs are catered to as well.

After a long days hunt, the evenings are spent in the Kara Creek saloon, where local cowboy musicians are often seen playing their music and folks gather sharing stories about their day.
