Our Fall Pheasant Festival is a fun amateur event that is a great way to start pheasant hunting season with your dog. Pheasants on Kara Creek Ranch is located in Sundance, WY.

Shooting starts promptly at 9am
BIRD DOG CHALLENGE RULES
- Two-person team with 1 or 2 dogs.
- 12 shells per entry. May share shells.
- 20 (twenty minute) time limit.
- Scoring:
- a) 50 points per bagged bird. 4 chukar/2 pheasant, only
- b) 5 point each shell not used
- c) 2 points for each full unused minute
# Two or more fields will be used. Entry’s present will draw for field.
Late entry run following first draw as entered. Entries accepted until last team runs or limit of 26 entries. 6 birds released in each field
Before each run (4 chukar and 2 pheasant).
# Dogs must hunt in designated area unless retrieving shot bird.
Judge may disqualify and ask team to leave field if dog cannot be controlled.
# Bird flushed and in air at 20-minute time limit is fair game.
# No Ground pounding. Bird caught on ground is legal. Must count shell as shot.
# Judge or entry can call safety. Judge will decide if it will count as shot bird.
# Tie breaker is fastest overall time.
“TOP DOG”. Will be selected from top 4 places.
